Wedding of Lucy-Rose & Jim // Lindores Abbey Distillery // 26th October 2019

A sprinkling of Spanish flavour, a cabbage patch doll, joy + laughter and a distillery full of love and happiness. Those will be my memories of Lucy-Rose & Jim's special day.
I love photographing quirky + unique weddings so I was excited when Lucy-Rose called me up from Spain where she lives and booked me for her and Jim's special day... I’ve shot weddings all over Scotland, but this was my first wedding at Lindores Abbey Distillery in Fife, a venue soaked in myth + legend...
My day started at Lucy-Rose's mum & dad's house in Wormit, it was such a peaceful part of the day and as hair & make up got into full swing it was really lovely to see what a beautiful relationship Lucy-Rose has with her mum & dad and bridesmaid Kerry. Lucy-Rose looked beautiful in her silver grey wedding gown with applique beading.
Onto the Abbey for the duration of the day and I have to say it was a 'Wow' for me - seeing all the amazing little personal touches Lucy and her parents had included, like the framed photos of each guest looking on during the ceremony and my bride & groom's arrival together for a drinks reception with their guests before the ceremony in the Still room. This was no formal stuffy affair!
Linda - the couple's celebrant, gave them an intimate yet fun and heartfelt ceremony with emotional readings from Lucy-Rose's brother and friend.
During my couple's ceremony exit they had their guests hold up personal messages for them as they walked down from the walkway into the courtyard area, looking at all the heartfelt + funny messages their guests held up for them made for some seriously fab shots!
Whilst their guests mingled and drank in the distillery bar area we snuck away for family photos in the Abbey ruins, it was so easy to capture some beautiful images with this gorgeous couple & their family members.. I kept my couple back for some more intimate shots and I must say these two just radiate love for one another.
After the wedding meal our guests were in for a real treat as mum & dad got up to do their fun & loving speech about their Lucy-Rose. Next up was Mike, Jim's best man and he certainly took the floor like a pro but the fantastically stylish lady who told her 'Hark I hear the cannons' joke was my personal 'stole the show' moment!! As the wedding band started to play the guests didn't need to be asked twice to get up and strut their stuff, a perfect end to my day - as it should be, what a great atmosphere.
I hope you all had an amazing day and night - thank you for letting me be a part of your incredible wedding day!
